Fit4Work Workshop

AAL Forum 2016, St. Gallen

28th of September 2016, 14:00-15:30

Do we need a dedicated startup accelerator in the AAL Programme?

The AAL Programme is aimed at creating innovative products and services, based on state-of-the-art ICT, contributing to tackling the ageing challenge on the one hand, while exploring business opportunities created by the changing demography on the other. The positive outcome of the future commercialization of the results of AAL Programme projects is at the core of their design and development methodologies. It is therefore a key question to understand whether the currently available for AAL project commercialization support like that provided by such initiatives as AAL2Business is sufficient or should we seek for any modification of commercialization strategies. We will therefore look to will investigate the methodologies used by another European Commission's programme - the FIWARE programme and its accelerators, to support SMEs in bringing innovative ideas of advanced ICT products from R&D results to the market, in order to find whether the AAL community may benefit from its experiences.
